Get involved

There is always more to be done than hands to do it

You can serve for a morning, teach for an evening a week, or support a month of any one of these services. All of it helps, and none of it is too small.

Volunteer

Four ways to serve, in person

No experience is required for most of it, and no commitment is too short. Visitors to Puttaparthi often serve for a single morning.

A morning, or a week

Cook, pack and deliver

The kitchen starts before most of Puttaparthi is awake. Chopping, cooking, filling the carriers and going out on the delivery round — this is where most hands are needed, every day of the year.

One day a month

Help at the medical camps

On the 23rd of every month, three camps run side by side. Volunteers manage registration, guide patients between stations, and sit with those who are anxious or alone.

An evening a week

Teach an evening class

Around forty children come six evenings a week. If you can teach mathematics, English, science or basic computing — or lead a Sunday yoga session — there is a class waiting.

As you are able

Offer a professional skill

Doctors, optometrists, teachers, accountants, photographers, plumbers and electricians have all served here. Whatever you are good at, there is likely a use for it.

To volunteer

Write to us and tell us when you'll be in Puttaparthi.

A line with your name, the dates you are here and what you would like to help with is enough. We will write back with where to come and at what hour.

Contribute

Support the work from wherever you are

Everything the Kuteer offers is free at the point of need. It stays that way because people give. Here is roughly what a contribution becomes.

One day

of Narayana Seva

Lunch cooked and delivered to around 55 elderly and destitute people.

One camp

of eye care

Screening for 60–70 people, and surgery arranged for those who need it.

One month

of tuition

Evening classes and daily snacks for around 40 children.

One month

of water

RO-purified drinking water, free, around the clock, for over 1,000 families.

How to give

Please write to us, and we will send you the details.

Sri Sathya Sai Kuteer is a public charitable trust. Contributions may be made towards a particular service — a day of Narayana Seva, a monthly medical camp, a term of tuition — or left to the Trust to apply where the need is greatest.

Tell us in your message what you would like to support and in what form, and one of the trustees will reply with the account details and confirm the receipt.

Good to know

  • Every contribution is acknowledged in writing.
  • Contributions in kind — rice, dal, oil, provisions, medicines, school materials — are equally welcome.
  • An annual activity report is published, so you can see what the year became.
  • We do not solicit donations by telephone, and we will never ask for card details.

Or simply come and sit with us

The Geetha Homam is at nine every morning and anyone may join it. The 23rd of the month is the busiest and the most welcoming day to visit: three medical camps in the morning, and around twelve hundred people at lunch.

Thank you

Whatever you can give — an hour, a skill, a sum — is received here as seva.

Write to us at any time. We read every message ourselves.
