Free Medical Camps

Healthcare should not depend on what a family can afford. On the 23rd of every month the Kuteer opens its doors to three free camps running side by side — and every medicine dispensed is provided at no cost by the Trust.

Free eye camp

Vision is precious, and no one should lose it to a treatable condition for want of money. In partnership with Sankara Eye Hospital, Bangalore, we screen 60 to 70 people at every camp. Between 35 and 45 of them are referred each month for surgery in Bangalore — free of charge, with all arrangements made on their behalf.

Allopathy medical camp

Qualified general physicians visit the premises to see 20 to 25 patients: blood pressure, temperature, basic diagnostics, early detection of the things that go unnoticed until they are serious. Prescriptions are filled from the Trust’s own stock, so that cost never stands between a diagnosis and its treatment.

Naturopathy and Sujok therapy

For those managing chronic conditions — skin disease, diabetes, hypertension — naturopathy offers a gentler, drug-free path. Around 10 patients receive natural therapies, dietary guidance and lifestyle counselling at each camp.

Alongside it we offer Sujok therapy, a medicine-less treatment worked through points on the hands and feet. This part of the camp runs across a longer window, from the 20th to the 24th of the month, and is open to anyone who comes.

Different traditions of healing, under one roof, on the same morning. Patients often visit two of the three, then stay for the monthly Narayana Seva lunch.

Finding the people who would never come

An eye camp only helps those who reach it. Working with the Sankara Eye Foundation, we go out into the remote villages first, identify the people whose sight is failing, and bring them in to the camp at the Kuteer — because the ones in greatest need are usually the ones least able to travel.
